Frequently asked questions
Short answers about our plans. The Terms control where they differ.
What does SWPPP Desk do?
We prepare site-specific stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) for construction sites from your answers, with your drawings attached as the site maps, written to the construction general permit of the state where the site is. Our checkout is open in 22 states, some with limits; see coverage by state at https://swpppdesk.com/coverage/.
How much does a SWPPP cost?
Small site, 1 to under 5 acres disturbed: $449. Large site, 5 acres or more or part of a 5+ acre common plan: $749. Permit fees are not included.
How fast do I get the plan?
By email the next business day after your inputs are complete.
What do I receive?
A site-specific SWPPP in PDF and editable DOCX, an inspection log, rain log and corrective action log, subcontractor certification and operator signature pages, and a one-page summary for your superintendent. The large-site plan adds an NOI worksheet and filing notes.
Do you stamp or seal plans?
No. Prepared by our team led by Mohamed Elansary, PhD. We are not a licensed engineering firm and do not seal plans.
Does a person review my plan?
No. Software builds it from a permit requirement map, an AI agent writes the narrative, and automated checks must pass. No person or engineer reviews it. You review, complete and sign it.
Who signs the SWPPP?
You, the operator. The operator signs the SWPPP and site notice and is responsible for carrying out the plan.
Do you file the NOI or pay permit fees?
No. You file with your permitting authority and pay any fee. The large-site plan includes an NOI worksheet and filing notes.
Do you inspect sites?
No. We never visit or inspect sites. The plan includes the inspection schedule and the logs your inspector uses.
Which sites can you not take?
Sites that need BMPs requiring engineering design or a sediment basin, sites discharging to impaired (303(d)-listed) waters, wetland or stream work, data-center projects, and sites where the state or locality requires a sealed plan or a certified preparer. The site check before payment stops these orders.
What if the plan needs changes?
All sales are final. We revise your plan free until it meets the stated scope.
What do I upload after paying?
Your civil or site plan, grading and erosion control sheets (PDF, PNG, JPG, ZIP or DWG), and the answers on the order form. For Hawaii sites on Oahu, the City erosion and sediment control plan is uploaded in the site check before payment.
How do I reach you?
In writing. Orders: [email protected]. Client support: [email protected]. Billing: [email protected]. General questions: [email protected]. We do not take phone calls.
